ABOUT
| Abel Berumen grew up in the diverse and chaoic enviroment of Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. Born to immigrant parents from Mexico, Abel was educated in the Chicgo Public Schools along with his six sisters. Here he was exposed to the harsh realities of Chicago's inner-city life and the ever-present specter of street crime,drugs and gang violence that profundly shaped his unique perspective both personally and arstistically. These influences can be seen in Abel's work even today. Abel completed his Bachelors of Arts at Chicago's Columbia College and is currently at Depaul University' Maters Program-Film & Video. |
